1. Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions that follow:
i) ANS- These scales give the butterfly its bright colours and patterns.
ii) ANS- Buterflies begin their lives as caterpillars.
iii) ANS- When they are ready, the caterpillar spins a cocoon around itself and goes through a stage called metamorphosis. Inside the cocoon, the caterpillar’s body changes into a butterfly.
iv) ANS- After a few weeks, the butterfly emerges from the cocoon. It pumps fluid from its body into its wings to make it strong enough to fly. The butterfly then uses its wings to fly from flower to flower, sipping nectar for food.
2. Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions that follow:
